The regional festival is put on BY ALL the GUILDS for everyone, the scope, size, and talent at this show is amazing, as well as the classes, speakers, and vendors! The guilds have a selection of quilts, picked by the guilds & members themselves, in addition to the traditional show in which many people can enter quilts for judging.
This is planned as a biannual event, occurring every two years, so the next big project for the Eudora Guild will be helping again with the KCRQF again in June of 2017.
Our local quilt show was just held a few weeks ago in July 2016, held simultaneously from the "bag lady" sale at the local quilt shop, held the 2nd week of July.
Our local show is also biannual. At this time, we anticipate the next local Eudora show to be held in July of 2018. This year was a venue change for us, farther off the beaten path. This year the local show was held at the United Methodist Church in Eudora.
Lighting was perfect for the July show, we thank people for being patient with us as the change of venue provided several more "unknowns" than years past. Hopefully, in next years to come, the event will run more and more smoothly. It was a lovely event, with many wonderful vendors, quilts, charity quilts, and always favorite, guild Garage Sale. This year any additional items from the garage sale were then further donated further to help with another cause!
After the 2016 local quilt show held at the United Methodist Church in Eudora in July, the next big adventure will be the 2nd biannual quilt show with the regional festival, held in June, 2017.
From here on out, the local Eudora show will always be on opposite years as the regional festival. Tell your friends of the change in venue for the local show this year if they didn't happen to see it for this year. We had advertised in a few places, including the local quilt shops, but after three years from our last show (2013), it is not surprising that there may have still been some confusion. Keep your eyes and ears open for notices at quilt shops just after July 4th in 2018.

Those wanting to join the Eudora Quilting Bees, we are small but mighty group that meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month, starting at 6:30PM at the Eudora quilt shop, Quilting Bits and Pieces. We do not meet in December, so our holiday dinner (& small gift exchange) is usually the 2nd week of November and we have time with family in December! Meetings normally consist of a speaker or trunk show or demo and then a break for refreshments, and then a business portion of the meeting.

We love new faces, new ideas! Come share with us! Our challenge quilts were designed by a newer member, and it energized many guild members into something new!
